- The Vadinar Jetty enhances the operational capability of the Indian Coast Guard in the North-West region.
- It plays a crucial role in safeguarding national maritime interests, especially in the Gulf of Kutch region which is vital for India's energy security.
- The jetty provides berthing facilities for Indian Coast Guard and Navy ships, enabling operations in all weather conditions and during emergencies.
- ICG Headquarters is in New Delhi, commanding 05 Regional Headquarters including one in Gandhinagar for the North-West region.
- Gujarat's coastline of 1215 Km makes it strategically significant, sharing an International Maritime Border Line with Pakistan.
